Terms of Service

Effective: September 2, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and ReleasesHQ (“we”, “us”) when you use releaseshq.com. ReleasesHQ is a registered business in India; the registration details are in section 13. Creating an account means you accept them. They are short on purpose. Email [email protected] if anything is unclear.

1. The service

ReleasesHQ helps you write release notes and publish them everywhere at once: a hosted page, an embed on your own site, X, LinkedIn, Slack, and email to your subscribers. AI drafting can turn merged pull requests into a first draft.

2. Your account

  • Keep your sign-in credentials safe; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate account information.
  • You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service.

3. Plans and billing

  • Free and Pro plans are described on the pricing page. Prices may change; existing subscriptions get notice before any change affects them.
  • Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Cancel any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise.

4. Acceptable use, especially email

The email feature is for people who chose to hear from you. Concretely:

  • Only email subscribers who opted in to your release notes. Importing a list means confirming that consent, and we record that confirmation.
  • Unsubscribes are honored automatically and permanently. Do not attempt to work around the suppression list.
  • No spam, no purchased lists, no deceptive senders or subject lines.
  • No unlawful, infringing, or malicious content anywhere on the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Spam abuse harms every other customer’s email deliverability, so we act on it quickly.

5. Your content

  • Your release notes are yours. You keep all rights to them.
  • You give us the permission needed to operate the service: hosting your content, displaying your public pages, and delivering it to the channels you connect, when you tell us to publish.
  • Hosted release-notes pages and embeds are public. Do not publish anything you need kept private.
  • You are responsible for what you publish and for having the rights to publish it.

6. Integrations

Connecting Slack, X, LinkedIn, or GitHub links your ReleasesHQ workspace to those services under their own terms. You can disconnect any integration at any time, which revokes our access. We are not responsible for third-party outages or policy changes, though we will work around them where we reasonably can.

7. AI drafting

AI-generated drafts are suggestions. Review them before publishing. You are the publisher of record for everything that goes out, including AI-assisted content.

8. Service availability

We work hard to keep ReleasesHQ fast and available, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, or retire features as the product evolves.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You can delete your workspace or account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where reasonable, we will warn you first. On termination, sections that by their nature survive (content responsibility, liability limits) continue to apply.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.
